We've all felt that way towards younger people who are cry babies.
I've never understood the draw towards that though. It's as if people think that crying makes them "cool." But it doesn't, it never did, and it never will.
Those bumper stickers from the 80s were right. "Life's a bitch and then you die!" Oh, and also "Shit Happens." That's life though, and it's life for everyone. Somehow an entire generation of people have forgotten that. Life is largely what you make of it, unless you're in a North Korean prison camp, in which case, you're actually screwed. Even still some people have managed to escape. And they're not crying about it.
In some sense it's that whining about things is just easier. Plus you can be rewarded for it too. I'd like to think that as a whole, humans are averse to work. Unless they're able to find a good enough reason to go through the hardship required.
Of course, most people are naturally lazy to some extent.
The problem is when those lazy people expect to have things that non-lazy people do -- without putting in any effort. They feel that they are somehow "owed" something.
They’re programming the young to fail. College especially is ruining them. I’m less interested in a good salutary reaming out than the real evil shits doing this and they know better.
There was a young employed by the company I work for now.
He was working in another state, and was hired as the on-site guy. He had a rather simple job that paid WELL because we're engineers. We also work rather autonomously, no micromanaging.
But this guy literally did NO WORK, other than show up. He left for a week, and never let the customer know about it, or any of us working on the project. He was just gone.
He was watching YouTube videos on his phone at meetings -- when executives were present.
Everyone had excuses for why he was doing these things. "He's young." "He is new to the position."
I didn't have an excuse for him. He was just a dumbass. Wouldn't he wonder how anything normally gets done? You can't just go to work -- and do nothing. I just can't fathom that someone is really that stupid.
He was fired shortly after that. But then another engineering group on the same job hired him! We were laughing because they didn't know it was the same guy.
It's all fucking true. Back in the day, I'd walk into a pub and immediately scan it for threats. Now I just plow straight through to the bar without a glance because I know my unspoken thoughts subconsciously trigger anxiety in anyone within ten feet who cares about pronouns.
Jobs that pay; in 2020 I met a man at training who has his own business as HVAC. He like everyone else has trouble hiring people; he would start his apprentices at $50 an hour.
For you office only types;
Apprenticeships are like internships but with pay -
Brb taking a pregnancy test just in case you broke reality
Lollll I’m a Gen Z’er and really appreciate this (especially the AnXiEty bit).
It's all in good fun lol
Problem is most, for whom it was intended, wouldn't take it as such.
As long as there’s money in being a loser, loser will remain a Profession.
Gonna tape my kids eyelids open and make him read this shit….yea
Yo, you and me both!! Although, I may use staples!!!
Ahahaha hahaha 🍻
Is this hate speech? Asking for a weakling.
Dude…not gonna lie, this is absolutely amazing and should be required reading for all men these days. Bravo

Guys and men all used to get this growing up, mind you in smaller doses

Have a great Sunday everyone!

I think that's part of it.
Of course, most people are naturally lazy to some extent.

The logic doesn't follow.
True. Nice analysis.
Now I'm trying to think of a reason why a lazy person would feel entitled to something that they haven't worked for.

School is ruining them.
The teachers “review the test” before the test (memorize answers) to boost teacher ratings.
Not to mention clearly no consequences.
The schools are ruin.
Had that joke for a plant manager, ffs
I’m a Gen X and I think you triggered a late life puberty cycle for me. Gonna be a long day now.
This was a great fun post - except for the part about boomers. For that, f**k you, kid.
Fair, that's fair.
I have no idea what that means. I suppose being a bicycle trumps being a hamburger too.
How 'bout you fuck off and go choke on a bag a dicks instead trolling people on my page?
Only one of us is anonymous. If I hurt your fake ass account feelings, you're welcome to quit being fake and do something about that.
But you won't because bitches can only be bitches
Wow. Not just a troll - a Jew-baiting troll! To what do I owe the honor?
A Poor Boomer Kid's Education:
"Remember Charlie, remember Baker
They left their childhood on every acre
And who was wrong? And who was right?
It didn't matter in the thick of the fight"
I'm Gen X er and menopause will now be delayed for another decade. My husband (also GenX, heard snippets of this post and he grew a beard. Thank you.
I snarfed my Guinness reading this.
